Story

Abby Quinn, a pregnant woman in California, rents out her garage apartment to David Bannon, an enigmatic stranger. Meanwhile, Abby's husband Russell is defending teenager Jimmy Szaragosa who claims he killed his parents following biblical commands. Around the world, signs of the Apocalypse occur as predicted in the Book of Revelation: Haiti's seas die and a Middle Eastern town freezes. The Vatican investigates these events but Father Lucci dismisses them as hoaxes or technological phenomena. Abby begins experiencing strange nightmares and discovers that David is Jesus returned, she is the Seventh Sign, and her unborn child's stillbirth will trigger Armageddon. To prevent this, Abby must find a way to save her baby.

Summary

Seventh Sign (1998), directed by Carl Schultz, is a blend of drama, horror, and thriller centered around the biblical Apocalypse. The film intertwines Abby's seemingly mundane life with global cataclysmic events, connecting them through David Bannon, her mysterious boarder, who reveals himself as Jesus Christ. The story explores themes of faith, destiny, and sacrifice while drawing on Christian prophecy and Gnosticism. Although some aspects are rooted in biblical narratives, the film is not solely religious; it also incorporates elements of mystery and suspense to create a unique take on end-times scenarios.
