Synopsis
A Business Affair tells the story of Kate Swallow and her relationships with two men: Alec Bolton, a renowned author, and Vanni Corso, Alec's publisher. Initially, Kate is with Alec but feels discouraged by him when she expresses her desire to write a novel herself. Later, Vanni sweeps Kate off her feet and she leaves Alec for him. Kate writes another novel, but both Alec and Vanni belittle it, indicating their vanity and fear of losing Kate.
