Synopsis

Set in early twentieth-century Greece, 'Apousies' revolves around a bourgeois family on the brink of disintegration after their mother abandons them and their father passes away. The three sisters - Eleni, Maria, and Anna - are left to navigate their personal dramas. Eleni, influenced by her father's stern morality, tries to take his place as the head of the household. Maria, however, rebels against this dynamic and leaves with Mourouzis, a captain of the sanitation service she has befriended. Meanwhile, Anna struggles to cope with these changes. The film follows their individual journeys as they grapple with societal expectations, familial obligations, and personal desires.
