Synopsis
In the 1930s, an American couple moves to the State of Ceará in Brazil. The husband arrives with the intention of finding oil. However, his beautiful wife, Donna, becomes entangled in a forbidden romance with a local fisherman who is rude but charming. This relationship threatens to destroy her marriage and cause scandal in their small village.

Résumé
Bela Donna (1998) is a Brazilian-American drama film directed by Fábio Barreto. Set in the State of Ceará, Brazil during the 1930s, the movie centers around an American couple who relocate to the area for business purposes. The wife's extramarital affair with a local fisherman forms the crux of the narrative, causing tension and potentially disrupting the moral fabric of their small community.
