Synopsis
The story begins with the death of an elderly millionaire, who leaves his entire fortune worth $8 million to Rebecca Carlson, a woman with whom he had been having an affair. District Attorney Robert Garrett suspects foul play and decides to prosecute Rebecca, believing she intentionally engaged in wild sexual activity with the old man to cause his heart attack. Defense attorney Frank Dulaney takes on Rebecca's case while becoming romantically involved with her himself. The film follows the court proceedings and the growing attraction between Frank and Rebecca.
