Synopsis
The story of 'Break-Up' begins in Chicago when art dealer Brooke Meyers feels neglected by her immature boyfriend Gary Grobowski, who runs a tourism business with his brothers. Frustrated after an argument, Brooke decides to break up with Gary, but Gary misunderstands her intention and believes she's testing him. Neither willing to move out of their shared condominium, they continue living together as hostile roommates while both pursue new relationships. Their friends and family offer conflicting advice, leading them down a path of humorous remedies, war tactics, and undermining tricks in an attempt to prove themselves right.
