Synopsis
In 1922 France, novelist Suzanne moves to the countryside for inspiration but finds herself disturbed by strange visions after discovering a sealed room in her house's basement. As she begins writing prolifically about a mysterious entity that seems to be awakening within the walls, several young girls from the nearby village go missing. The villagers grow worried and suspicious of Suzanne.

Résumé
Derrière les murs (Behind the Walls) is a French horror-drama film directed by Julien Lacombe in 2011. Set in the early 1920s, the movie centers around Suzanne, a young novelist struggling with writer's block. Her isolation in the countryside leads her to discover an enigmatic room in her house that stimulates her writing but also brings about disturbing visions and nightmares. The film interweaves themes of creativity, madness, and the supernatural as it explores Suzanne's descent into mystery and paranoia.
