Synopsis
Paul and Paula are two individuals who have experienced failures in their romantic lives. Paul is wealthy but emotionally disconnected from his wife, while Paula struggles to raise her two children alone. They serendipitously meet each other and find a strong connection. Their relationship becomes a source of joy and escapism from their everyday troubles. However, their newfound happiness is repeatedly interrupted by the responsibilities of Paul's career and family obligations.

Résumé
Die Legende von Paul und Paula is a 1973 East German tragicomic film directed by Heiner Carow. The movie follows the romantic journey of its titular characters who meet after having gone through disappointing experiences in love. Despite their initial happiness, they face challenges due to the practical realities of life, particularly Paul's commitments to his family and career.
