Synopsis
In the antebellum South of the 1850s, Django (Jamie Foxx), a slave-turned-bounty hunter with the help of his mentor Dr. King Schultz (Christoph Waltz), aims to rescue his wife Broomhilda (Kerry Washington) from the ruthless plantation owner Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio). After working together and becoming friends, Django seeks revenge against Candie for his cruelty towards slaves. In a daring plan involving an undercover operation at Candyland, Django infiltrates the plantation to free his wife while Schultz creates a distraction. However, their plans are complicated by Candyland's head house slave Stephen (Samuel L. Jackson), who senses their scheme and alerts Candie.

Résumé
Django Unchained is a 2012 American film directed by Quentin Tarantino, blending genres of drama, western, and revenge thriller set against the backdrop of slavery in the pre-Civil War South. The movie is notable for its revisionist take on the Western genre, tackling themes of racism, slavery, and power dynamics through a lens of Tarantino's signature style. The film follows Django, a freed slave turned bounty hunter who partners with Dr. King Schultz, a German dentist-turned-bounty hunter, to rescue his wife Broomhilda from plantation owner Calvin Candie. With its unique blend of historical context, genre-blending storytelling, and Tarantino's characteristic dialogue and violence, Django Unchained explores themes of friendship, revenge, and the brutal realities of slavery in an engaging yet challenging narrative.
