Synopsis

In war-torn London, Welsh poet Dylan Thomas rekindles his relationship with childhood sweetheart Vera Phillips, now a cabaret singer. However, Vera also falls for William Killick, a charming officer she meets in London. Despite her newfound love for William, Vera still feels the spark between herself and Dylan, who is married to the adventurous Caitlin. The two women form an unexpected friendship despite their shared affection for Dylan. When Vera becomes pregnant and William is posted abroad, she returns to Wales with Dylan and Caitlin. Upon William's return, his jealousy towards Dylan intensifies due to neighborhood gossip. Enraged, William attacks Dylan, forcing Vera to choose between the men in her life and her beloved friend.
