Synopsis
In the small town of Odessa, Texas, high school football is life, and the team's star tailback, Boobie Miles, is on his way to a college scholarship until he suffers a career-ending knee injury in the first game of the season. The team's hopes are dashed, and racial tensions begin to surface. New coach Gary Gaines arrives to inspire the team and the town with a sense of self-respect and honor.
