Synopsis
Linda, married to Jeff with two teenagers, struggles with her new family life as she suspects Jeff of having an affair and resorts to drinking. When Elke, her husband's old friend's sister, arrives at their Malibu home for Christmas, Linda finds solace in her company. Elke is a free-spirited woman who helps the entire family reconnect with their sexuality and emotions. She discovers that each member of the family has emotional and sexual problems, which she begins to help them overcome.

Résumé
Friend of the Family (1995) is a drama-thriller directed by Edward Holzman.
