Synopsis
A young American writer named David Bourne, fresh from his service in WWI, travels through Europe with his new wife Catherine and her Italian friend Marita. The journey turns into an exploration of their desires and boundaries when Catherine brings Marita along to spice up their relationship. As the sexual tension between them grows, so does the complexity of their dynamics, ultimately leading to a life-altering event.

Résumé
Based on Ernest Hemingway's posthumously published novel, 'Garden of Eden' is a drama-romance-thriller set in the Roaring Twenties, prior to the Great Depression. The film explores themes of love, lust, jealousy, and the complexities of human relationships through the lens of an open marriage. Directed by John Irvin and shot between Spain and the UK, it stars Eric Bana as David Bourne, Charlotte Gainsbourg as Catherine, and Mena Suvari as Marita.
