Synopsis
Four middle-aged friends—Adam, Lou, Nick, and Jacob—feeling stuck in their lives, decide to go on a ski trip together. After a night of heavy drinking in the hot tub at their lodge, they wake up the next morning to find themselves inexplicably transported back to 1986. Panicked but intrigued by this sudden change in circumstance, they quickly realize that they've been given an opportunity to alter the course of their lives by fixing past mistakes.

Résumé
Hot Tub Time Machine is a 2010 American science fiction comedy film directed by Steve Pink. The movie follows four forty-something friends who are feeling disillusioned with their current lifestyles, and decide to escape for a ski trip in the hopes of recapturing some of their youthful excitement. After an evening spent drinking heavily in the lodge's hot tub, they wake up to find themselves inexplicably transported back to 1986. The film is notable for its use of time travel as a comedic device, exploring themes of regret, redemption, and the butterfly effect.
