Immacolata and Concetta are two women from Naples who face various struggles due to their unconventional lifestyles. Immacolata, a bisexual butcher shop owner, is married but has financial difficulties. Meanwhile, Concetta, a lesbian, works manual labor jobs and has spent time in jail for shooting her lover's husband and guiding a young woman into prostitution. Immacolata also ends up in jail for the latter offense. In prison, they form an intense romantic relationship. Upon release, they defy societal norms by moving in together despite Immacolata still being married. However, their relationship faces challenges not just from external threats but also from internal contradictions.
