Synopsis

Jackie Brown (Pam Grier), a middle-aged flight attendant, smuggles money for her arms dealer boss, Ordell Robbie (Samuel L. Jackson). When she's caught and arrested, police officers Mark Dargus (Michael Keaton) and Ray Nicolette (Chris Tucker) try to use Jackie as bait to apprehend Ordell. However, Jackie sees an opportunity to keep the money herself by involving bail bondsman Max Cherry (Robert Forster), who has feelings for her. Together, they plan a double-cross against Ordell, with Jackie pretending to help him launder his money while secretly keeping it for herself.

Résumé

Jackie Brown is a neo-noir crime drama directed by Quentin Tarantino in 1997, loosely based on Elmore Leonard's novel 'Rum Punch'. Unlike Tarantino's typical fare, this film is often considered one of his most mature and restrained efforts. The movie stands out for its strong performances, particularly Pam Grier as the titular character and Robert Forster as Max Cherry. Jackie Brown explores themes of aging, desperation, and the consequences of a life of crime.
