Synopsis
Assistant District Attorney David Corelli takes charge of investigating a brutal hatchet murder in San Francisco. The victim is a prominent art dealer with connections to high-profile figures, including the Governor. As Corelli delves into the case, he discovers that his ex-lover Katrina Gavin, now married to his old friend, is a key suspect due to her involvement with the victim's business dealings and potentially criminal activities. Struggling with his personal feelings for Katrina, Corelli must also grapple with evidence suggesting she may be guilty of the murder or at least complicit in a cover-up. As he investigates further, he uncovers a web of blackmail, prostitution, and corruption involving powerful people, including the Governor himself.
