Synopsis
In the aftermath of a terrorist bombing in Berlin that claims her mother and brothers, young Maxi survives with her father. Struggling with grief, she meets Karl, an enigmatic student who invites her to attend a conference for European youth in Prague. Seeking escape from her devastated home life, Maxi accepts Karl's invitation without knowing the true nature of the political movement he represents. Once in Prague, Maxi becomes deeply involved with this group aiming for nothing less than seizing power, unaware that its members may have connections to those responsible for her family's tragedy.

Résumé
Je Suis Karl is a 2021 German-Czech thriller directed by Christian Schwochow. The film centers around the fictional story of Maxi, whose life is forever changed after a terrorist attack on their home leaves her with only her father. When she meets charismatic student Karl and becomes involved in his political movement advocating for a 'better Europe,' she unwittingly draws herself closer to those responsible for her family's destruction.
