Histoire
An oil company expedition travels to an uncharted island in the Indian Ocean. Paleontologist Jack Prescott stows away on the ship after hearing rumors about the island. En route, they rescue Dwan, a survivor of a shipwreck. Upon arrival, they discover that the island is inhabited by natives who worship a giant ape called Kong. The natives kidnap Dwan and attempt to sacrifice her to Kong, but she is rescued. Kong is subsequently captured and brought back to New York City for exhibition at the World Trade Center. However, Kong escapes and wreaks havoc in Manhattan.
Résumé
King Kong (1976) is a fantasy horror film directed by John Guillermin and stars Jeff Bridges as Jack Prescott and Jessica Lange as Dwan. It is a remake of the classic 1933 film King Kong. The movie explores themes of exploitation, greed, and man's hubris in attempting to control nature. Despite being criticized upon its release for its dark tone and graphic violence compared to the original, it has since gained a cult following.
