Oskar, a young physicist with suicidal thoughts, crosses paths with Frieda, a small-time criminal on the run from her gang. Though she initially plans to use Oskar as a hostage, she ends up rescuing him instead. To keep Oskar alive and prevent suspicion, Frieda agrees to help him fulfill his final wish - seeing the Northern Lights in Norway. During their journey, Frieda's criminal past catches up with them, leading to a series of comedic mishaps and unexpected encounters that ultimately bring the two closer together.
