Synopsis
Le meilleur de la vie (1985) explores the tumultuous relationship between Veronique, a wealthy woman from the provinces, and Adrien, her impoverished husband with Breton ancestry. Despite their differing backgrounds, they fall in love, marry, and have a daughter. However, their relationship becomes strained when Veronique decides to pursue higher education, causing Adrien to feel overwhelmed as he takes on both parental roles. Their arguments lead to temporary separations but eventually reunite them. During one of these reunions, while returning from visiting his mother in Brittany, Adrien's life takes an unexpected turn.
