Synopsis
Set during World War II in Sicily, Malèna follows Renato, a 12-year-old boy who becomes captivated by Malèna, a woman whose husband has gone missing, presumed dead. On the same day that Italy enters the war and he receives his first bicycle, Renato witnesses Malèna's arrival in town. Through Renato's eyes, we witness Malèna's beauty and loneliness, as well as her struggles due to her husband's absence.
