Histoire
In Denis Malleval's 'Malgré-elles' (2012), two teenage girls, Alice and Lisette, are forcibly removed from their family in Alsace to contribute to the German war effort during WWII. After six months of indoctrination, they are sent to a munitions factory where they face harsh conditions. An explosion occurs at the factory, and the girls are suspected of sabotage, leading them to believe they will be sent to a labor camp. Instead, they are transferred to a maternity ward where they continue to endure hardships under wartime conditions.
