Histoire
Marion Mazzano was once a police officer but after surviving a shooting, she becomes a prison administrator. Her husband, who is still a cop, creates tension in their marriage and work situations. In one of her first cases, Marion offers herself as a hostage to secure the release of another prisoner's victim. She learns from the hostage-taker that a guard at another prison killed his cell-mate, marking him for death as well. This revelation serves as the second primary plot thread throughout the series.
