Histoire
In the mid-19th century, Maja and Janne relocate to the rugged, storm-tossed island of Stormskerry in search of a better life. As they adapt to their new environment and raise a family, Maja finds herself challenging traditional gender roles, embracing the idea that women can be equal partners rather than mere bystanders. However, their peaceful existence is disrupted when war arrives on the island during the Crimean War. Janne is forced to flee from English troops, leaving Maja and their children imprisoned. The family faces numerous hardships, including financial struggles and loss of life. Despite these challenges, Maja remains resilient, choosing to stay in Stormskerry even as years pass.
