In Los Angeles, three friends with limited social lives devise a plan to meet women: they'll stage a casting call for an independent film, interview actresses, and pursue those who catch their interest. Glenn, the nerdy one, has the office where the interviews take place. Sherman, the smooth-talking ladies' man, spearheads the idea, aiming to charm as many women as possible. Ritchie, the romantic, hopes to find his true love among the applicants. Marina Dell, a newcomer with a boyfriend back East, catches Ritchie's eye. Glenn becomes smitten with Laurel, while Sherman can't resist Nikita's adventurous spirit.
