Histoire
In mid-twentieth century America, Alice Mitchell works as a street prostitute and struggles with her estrangement from her family due to her homosexuality. After her situation worsens, she seeks refuge at a Christian household where she wins over the family by adopting their faith falsely, despite opposition from Lillian, the in-law. While there, Alice becomes infatuated with Annabel, the family's daughter. When Lillian discovers and reveals Alice's true sexual orientation, Alice attempts to suppress her feelings for Annabel and rededicates herself to her faith and reconciling with her own family. However, when confronted by Annabel again, she is torn between leaving with her or remaining with her own family. After a final confrontation with Lillian, Alice makes her choice.
