Histoire
The film begins with Anne standing alone in her empty apartment in Holland. She watches from her window as passersby take her discarded belongings and furniture. Her final act of leaving behind her old life is removing a ring from her finger before departing for Ireland. Once there, she chooses to live a solitary, wandering existence, traversing the rugged landscapes of Connemara. During her journey, Anne discovers a house inhabited by a hermit named Martin.
