Synopsis
In ancient Israel, King Saul struggles to unify the twelve tribes and defend his nation against enemies. The prophet Samuel conveys God's message that Saul must destroy one of their ancient foes. However, when Saul disobeys this command, Samuel prophesies that God will remove Saul's kingship and choose another in his place. Over time, Saul comes to realize that his greatest threat is not from external enemies but from David, a resourceful young shepherd.
