Synopsis
In an unnamed war-torn country, possibly Afghanistan, a young woman in her thirties nurses her older husband who lies comatose due to a neck bullet wound. Abandoned by his Jihad companions and brothers, she stays with him despite their dire living conditions. After years of marriage, the wife decides to speak freely to her unresponsive husband about her true feelings, frustrations, and dreams - things she could never have expressed before. Unbeknownst to her, he becomes like a 'patience stone,' an ancient Persian mythical stone that shields one from unhappiness when confided in. As she struggles to survive, the woman finds solace with her aunt who is a prostitute and the only family member understanding of her situation. After weeks caring for her husband, she begins a relationship with a young soldier, revealing her own transformation and healing.
