Synopsis
Patria (series) delves into the personal aftermath of Spain's Basque conflict through the lives of its protagonists. The story follows a widow named Bittori, whose husband Txomin was killed by the ETA, a separatist group advocating for Basque independence from Spain. After the 2011 ceasefire between the ETA and the Spanish government, Bittori returns to her home village in the Basque Country. Here she reconnects with her former close friend Arantxa, whose son Jon has been imprisoned for his involvement as a terrorist with the ETA.
