Synopsis
Pennies from Heaven follows Arthur Parker, a sheet music salesman traveling through Chicago during the Great Depression. Struggling to sell his products amidst the economic hardship, Arthur finds solace in popular music and starts an affair with Eileen, an innocent school teacher he meets in a music store. Despite being married to Joan, Arthur pursues this relationship, trying to escape his dreary life through musical fantasies that come alive on screen.
