Synopsis
Pillow Book follows Nagiko, who develops an obsession with books, papers, and writing on bodies after her father painted characters on her face as a child while her aunt read to her from 'The Pillow Book', a diary of a 10th-century lady-in-waiting. As she grows up in Tokyo, Nagiko seeks both a lover and a calligrapher who can satisfy her unique fetish. The film explores Nagiko's sexual odyssey as she navigates this desire.
