Synopsis
In 'Poodle Springs', aging private detective Philip Marlowe (James Caan) decides to settle down and marry his much younger socialite fiancée (Dina Meyer). They move to a desert town, but Marlowe's past soon catches up with him when he becomes entangled in a blackmail scheme involving a sleazy photographer (David Keith), a former stripper turned billionaire's moll (La Joy Farr), and murder. As the plot thickens, Marlowe discovers that his new father-in-law (Joe Don Baker) is also mixed up in the intrigue.

Résumé
Directed by Bob Rafelson in 1998, 'Poodle Springs' is a neo-noir TV movie based on Raymond Chandler's Philip Marlowe series. Set in 1963, it follows Marlowe as he attempts to leave his wild past behind and start a new life with his bride-to-be. However, the once-hardboiled detective finds that crime still follows him even in the seemingly quiet desert town of Poodle Springs.
