Résumé
Prom Night (1980) is a classic slasher horror film directed by Paul Lynch. Set in Canada at Hamilton High School, it revolves around revenge and guilt, as a masked killer stalks four seniors who were involved in an accidental death six years prior. The prom night setting provides ample tension and atmosphere for the murders to unfold, with disco music and dancing juxtaposed against brutal violence. While not groundbreaking in terms of plot or character development, Prom Night is notable for its influential role in shaping the slasher genre, particularly in popularizing the 'final girl' trope and using prom night as a backdrop for carnage.
