Synopsis
Mark Hunter, a shy and intelligent high school student in Arizona, discovers his parents' shortwave radio after moving from the East Coast. He begins broadcasting as 'Hard Harry,' a pirate DJ who becomes popular among his peers for his rebellious and honest perspective on life. His broadcasts inspire chaos at school when one of his listeners, Noodles, commits suicide following Harry's encouragement to 'do something big.' The principal blames Hard Harry for the incident, leading to clashes between students and faculty. Authorities become involved in an attempt to shut down Harry's broadcasts.
