Synopsis
Erminia, a young girl, marries Antonio, a wealthy but brutish local butcher, at her countess stepmother's behest. On their wedding night, Erminia proves to be frigid, leading to a fight between them. She leaves town to stay with her older sister Angela and becomes involved with Angela's swinger friends. Meanwhile, Antonio seeks comfort with prostitutes and starts an affair with a wealthy widow right under his mother-in-law's roof, who finds this sexually appealing.

Directed by Vittorio De Sisti, 'Quando l'amore è sensualità' (1973) is a drama-rotic film that explores the complexities of relationships, sexuality, and desire. The movie follows Erminia as she navigates her new marriage to Antonio, who is demanding but unsatisfying sexually. After leaving him, Erminia engages in sexual exploration with her sister's friends while Antonio pursues his own desires outside their marriage.
