Histoire
A renowned conductor, Erik Ericsson (Michael Nyqvist), abruptly leaves his successful international career to return to his rural Swedish hometown of Houset. He agrees to listen to the local church choir and subsequently becomes its new conductor. Under Eriksson's guidance, the choir begins to improve significantly, drawing both admiration from some villagers and resentment from others. The choir also attracts the attention of a young woman named Anna (Frida Hallgren), with whom Eriksson eventually falls in love. Throughout his time in Houset, Eriksson faces challenges and makes enemies due to his unconventional methods and uncompromising standards for the choir.
