Synopsis
Scumbag begins with Broni, a teenager, disappearing from a rehabilitation center. Her friend Nada tells journalist Ondra about her missing friend and the questionable practices at the facility. Based on Nada's testimony, Ondra starts investigating, uncovering links between high-ranking politicians and organized crime. Meanwhile, a promising parliament member supported by mafia starts his own party, wins the election, and becomes Prime Minister. The newly elected government, controlled by criminals, manipulates power for personal gain.

Scumbag is a political thriller based on Arpád Soltész's bestselling book of the same name. It explores themes of corruption, abuse of power, and the blurred lines between politics and organized crime. The film echoes real-life events, notably the murder of journalist Ján Kuciak and his fiancée Martina Kušnírová in 2018.
