Synopsis
Charlie Taylor is released from jail after serving one year for a crime he claims not to have committed. His girlfriend Randi, who is also his songwriter, calls upon her ex-boyfriend Carl Olsen, now a district attorney in Malibu, to help Charlie secure a job. Carl arranges for Emma De Layle, the wife of a powerful rich man, to hire Charlie as an intermediary in a staged kidnapping of Emma's step-daughter Melissa. Melissa is aware and willing to participate in the scheme to get cash to escape her father's influence. However, the plan goes awry, leaving Charlie potentially liable for the consequences.
