Seventeen-year-old Saki lives a struggling life with her mother, pushing a food cart for work and dropping out of school. She maintains relationships with two men: Sotoo, her boyfriend, and Ataru, a truck driver she entertains on occasion. Believing promiscuity is inherited from her mother, Saki decides to improve her situation by ending these affairs when she discovers she's pregnant.
