Synopsis
Short Cuts explores intersecting stories of various characters in Los Angeles, California, loosely connected by chance encounters and events. The narrative begins with waitress Doreen Piggot accidentally hitting a boy with her car. The boy lapses into a coma after walking away from the scene, leading his grandfather to recall past affairs while at the hospital. Meanwhile, a baker starts harassing the family when they fail to pick up the boy's birthday cake.
