Synopsis
Ewald Bravo, having moved to Romania years ago and now in his 40s, seeks a fresh start by leaving his girlfriend behind and relocating to the countryside. He transforms an abandoned school into a fortress with the help of local boys, providing them with a new, carefree existence. However, tensions rise as the villagers grow distrustful, leading Ewald to confront a long-suppressed truth about himself.

Résumé
Sparta is the sequel to Ulrich Seidl's Rimini and the conclusion of his diptych exploring themes of personal history, guilt, and redemption. The film focuses on Richie Bravo's brother, Ewald, who has left his past behind in search of a new beginning in Romania. The movie delves into Ewald's interactions with local boys and his attempt to escape his troubled past, ultimately leading him to confront the painful truths he has long avoided.
