Synopsis
In his final weeks before retirement, seasoned parole officer Jack Mabry (Robert De Niro) is assigned to evaluate convicted arsonist Gerald 'Stone' Creeson (Edward Norton) for early release. Stone initially tries to engage Jack in coarse banter and plea for leniency, but Jack remains aloof. Desperate to sway Jack's decision, Stone orchestrates a plan with his wife Lucetta (Milla Jovovich): she seduces Jack, aiming to manipulate him into granting Stone an early parole. As the trio becomes entangled in their web of deceit and passion, hidden motives and secrets emerge, blurring the lines between manipulation and genuine connection.
