Histoire
When North Korean ruler Kim Jong-il orchestrates a global terrorist plot, it's up to the heavily armed, highly specialized Team America unit to stop his dastardly scheme. The group, which has recruited troubled Broadway actor Gary Johnston, not only has to face off against Jong-il, but they must also contend with the Film Actors Guild, a cadre of Hollywood liberals at odds with Team America's 'policing the world' tactics.
Résumé
When North Korean despot Kim Jong-il sets his sights on a catastrophic global terrorist scheme, the heavily armed, elite squad Team America is mobilized to thwart his plans. Led by the enigmatic Spottswoode, this highly specialized unit recruits troubled Broadway actor Gary Johnston for an undercover mission in Cairo. There, they infiltrate a terrorist cell aiming to destroy the world. After successfully dismantling the threat, Team America returns home triumphant, but tragedy strikes when innocents perish during a retaliatory attack on the Panama Canal, leaving Gary wracked with guilt and causing him to abandon his post.
Meanwhile, Jong-il finds an unexpected ally in the Film Actors Guild, a Hollywood collective opposed to Team America's global policing methods. As tensions between the unit and the guild escalate, so too does Jong-il's resolve to harness weapons of mass destruction. Now, with the fate of the world hanging in the balance, Team America must reunite, put aside their differences, and engage in an epic battle against Jong-il's formidable forces to prevent an apocalyptic catastrophe.
