Synopsis
Gib (John Cusack), a laid-back college student, and Alison (Daphne Zuniga), an uptight Ivy League student, are forced to travel together cross-country during Christmas break when Gib's reckless behavior causes them both to miss their flights home from California. Despite their initial dislike for each other, they begin to bond as they journey across the country. Along the way, they encounter various obstacles and meet interesting characters, including a hitchhiker named Walter (Anthony Edwards) who joins them briefly.
