Synopsis
Tiens-toi droite follows three women who initially do not know each other but find their lives intersecting due to their shared desire for personal evolution. Louise leaves her family's laundry business to work at a large doll-making company where her lover secured her job. Meanwhile, Lili, Miss New Caledonia, meets a rich industrialist while Sam decides to assert her independence despite having a large family. The film explores themes of female empowerment as these women navigate societal pressures from mothers, sisters, friends, and men who disappear from their lives. Their daughters also play significant roles in influencing their decisions. The plot culminates around the development of a new doll model that aims to represent women realistically, raising questions about whether doll designs should adapt to reflect women or vice versa.
