Histoire
Tieta do Agreste follows the return of Tieta, who had been forced to leave her native village in Bahia years ago due to an affair with a goatherd. Her family believes she is dead and expects to inherit her riches when she fails to return. However, Tieta resurfaces from São Paulo with a surprise – a young stepdaughter and no wealth. Her arrival disrupts the lives of her family and fellow villagers, particularly her nephew who was promised to the Church and an aspiring mayor.
