In the spring of 1999, 15-year-old Camille falls deeply in love with 19-year-old Sullivan. However, Sullivan decides to leave for South America for a year, causing Camille immense distress. She attempts suicide after he stops writing to her and ends up in the hospital. Four years later, Camille has moved on; she works, studies architecture, and lives independently. She meets Lorenz, an accomplished architect who boosts her confidence. In 2007, Camille and Lorenz share a strong relationship, with Camille aspiring to start her own agency. After seven years, Camille encounters Sullivan again. Initially, things seem to go well between them, but old feelings resurface, tearing Camille's heart apart once more.
