Histoire

Jeanne marries Louis, a military man, just before World War II breaks out. Due to his imprisonment as a POW after France's defeat in 1940, Jeanne barely knows him and begins a series of affairs with Louis' fellow soldiers during his absence. After Louis returns from the camp, he takes Jeanne and their twins (fathered by another man) to Berlin, where she starts an affair with Matthias, a German industrialist. When Louis is deployed to Vietnam during the Indochinese War, Matthias follows Jeanne back to France. Later, when Louis becomes the military attaché in Damascus, his bond with Jeanne remains unbroken.
